Yoga at The Sarojin

Oct 4, 2024

We are delighted to share that we have launched a brand new ‘Yoga for the Community’ initiative. Having seen the popularity of yoga classes grow both here at The Sarojin and internationally, we decided to set up this new initiative. All profits made are used to fund local projects and support the community.

The Classes

Our popular classes are led by our very own expert yoga teacher and take place every Tuesday and Friday morning between 8am and 9am. What better way to start the day! And after such an invigorating start, you’ll deserve to treat yourself to a delicious breakfast. But there’s no need to rush as it is available all day until 6pm – and even includes sparkling wine for those who wish to toast their yoga accomplishments!

Our ‘Yoga for the Community’ classes guide guests through a restorative hour of stretching and toning, designed to help calm the body and mind. The yoga classes take place within The Sarojin’s tranquil grounds upon a shaded pavilion in its luscious gardens. The intimate classes are for up to four guests at a time, designed for guests to feel comfortable and at ease. No over-crowding here. The ultimate in relaxation.

Each class costs just 400 Thai Baht (approximately USD 12 per person), with all profits from the yoga classes being donated to The Sarojin Community Care Fund.

The Sarojin Community Care Fund

The Sarojin Community Care Fund is one of our proudest achievements. We set it up in 2004, initially to help rebuild the communities surrounding The Sarojin in the wake of the Boxing Day tsunami. Twenty years later it continues to contribute to a number of very worthy causes. From providing medical provisions and restoring local infrastructure to supporting local orphanages, schools and wildlife projects. So every ‘Yoga for the Community’ guest can relax in the knowledge that with every stretch and downward dog, their participation is not only helping themselves, but also the local community!

Self-care at The Sarojin

Practising yoga is indisputably one of the best ways of practising self care. It is deeply rooted in history and practised by millions around the world. Here at The Sarojin, we want our guests to have a thoroughly relaxing and invigorating holiday and the experiences we offer, including the ‘Yoga for the Community’ classes, enable you to do just that. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned practitioner, one of the added bonuses of the yoga classes at The Sarojin is the luscious surroundings. With the sounds of birds, nature and the soothing Andaman Sea, the tranquil environment provides the perfect backdrop for our ‘Yoga for the Community’ sessions.

And to complement your yoga class, why not treat yourself to a thoroughly relaxing self-care treatment at our award-winning Pathways Spa. Nestled within The Sarojin’s grounds and surrounded by coconut groves, luscious greenery and the sounds of nature, it is an ideal place for relaxation. Guests can indulge in 60 or 90 minutes massage sessions, which can be followed by a healthy Spa Cuisine Lunch including delicious detox smoothies.

Please let us know if we can book you in for your ‘Yoga for the Community’ class when you are next at The Sarojin. Until then, happy stretching!
