Here at The Sarojin we’re lucky enough to have a variety of superb courses right on our doorstep. From championship greens to smaller courses perfect for a short round or two in between relaxing by the pool, taking a stroll along our stunning 11km stretch of secluded white sand beach or exploring the local area of Khao Lak on one of our excursions, there’s a course to suit every golfer.
To help you tee off in style, here are four options within a short driving distance from our resort:
Katathong Golf Course
The 18-hole Katathong Golf Course is nestled between three stunning peaks in Phang Nga, otherwise known as the valley of dreams. The 72-par championship green offers players lush mountain views from every angle with the course design following the natural contours of the land with undulating hills, sand traps and a stunning reservoir abundant with natural waterfalls and streams. Katathong offers narrow fairways requiring some strategic skills, so what better way to put your pro-skills to the test than with a round or two here while relaxing on an idyllic Thai holiday?
Kirinara Golf Course
This 9-hole course, located just outside Takuapa Old Town, is the perfect choice for those wanting to combine a lighter round with a glimpse of traditional local life in the nearby Thai town.
The scenic course was designed to preserve the surrounding untouched nature of the area, which is perfectly encapsulated in its name, Kirinara – Kiri means mountain while Nara references water and prosperity. Expect a combination of short and long holes, dense palm trees, water hazards, tough greens and mountainous slopes to tackle here.
Tap La Mu Royal Thai Navy Golf Course
Looking for something a little more tropical? Then Tap La Mu Royal Thai Navy Golf Course is perfect for you! This stunning course, which has an off-the-beaten-track feel, is located on Song Ngam Beach and is relatively unknown to tourists visiting the area.
Frequented by locals Tap La Mu offers 18-holes on its 72-par course, with 5 holes lying along the shoreline. Top tip: this is a great choice for a late afternoon game with its spectacular views of the Andaman Sea and backdrop of rainforest covered hills. Golf doesn´t get any more idyllic than this…
Blue Canyon Country Club
The Blue Canyon Country Club offers not one but two championship 18-hole golf courses to choose from, ideal for those with a Tiger Wood’s like swing! If you’re a golf enthusiast, Blue Canyon might ring some bells too as it has a history of hosting major tournaments – the 1994 Johnnie Walker Classic and the 1996 Honda Invitational Tournament of the Omega Tour were hosted here. In fact, the Johnnie Walker Classic later returned to Blue Canyon twice, making it the first golf course to host the tournament three times.
