Borrow one of our complimentary mountain bikes and explore the natural beauty of Khao Lak
One of the key reasons we chose Khao Lak as the location for The Sarojin is its natural beauty and Thai ambience, elements we are keen to help all our guests experience – and what better way to explore a destination than on two wheels!
With a number of keen cyclists in our team, we’re sharing some of the top cycling destinations in the area to help you make the most of our complimentary mountain bikes!
The Rainbow Waterfall
Just half an hour’s scenic bike ride from The Sarojin lies The Sai Rung Waterfall, or Rainbow Waterfall as it is known in English. Located in Khao Lak’s tropical rainforest, the waterfall cascades into a lagoon and crystal-clear stream, creating the perfect place to stop for a refreshing swim. Surrounded by the forest’s lush vegetation, the waterfall is also a great place for spotting some of the region’s wildlife. This spot is certainly a favourite amongst both our guests and staff!
Pakarang Cape
Another fantastic cycling destination within half an hour’s ride of our hotel is Pakarang Cape, which juts out into the Andaman Sea, west of The Sarojin. Providing great views both to the north and the south, the cape’s white sands are adorned with shells and pieces of coral, while a scattering of trees in its interior offers a fantastic contrast of lush green to the white sands and blue waters. Wonderfully quiet, this is a great setting to sit back, relax and take in the stunning scenery of Khao Lak’s coastline.
Khao Lak Town
Want to explore the local culture, as well as the scenery? Head to Khao Lak town on your bike and enjoy thirty minutes of cycling past the fields, farms and forests before arriving in the town for a refreshing beverage at one of the local cafes like “The Eight Room Café” and “O-Liang”. While in Khao Lak town, why not glide past Khuek Khak Temple, pay your respects at the Police Boat T813 Tsunami Memorial or explore the wares at Bang Niang Market.
Jungle Life
Feeling adventurous? Then head to Khao Sok National Park for a mountain bike ride through the rainforest! It takes about an hour to drive to the national park but it is certainly worth it once you get there and start exploring on two wheels. Discover the fantastic flora and fauna, including monkeys and elephants, that call this evergreen rainforest home as you cycle through the trees, past water pools and waterfalls of the national park.
