Our culinary classes are designed to offer an authentic taste of all three, giving you a first-hand look at rural Thailand and teaching you traditional Thai cooking skills that will surely impress friends back home!
From catching and cooking your own fish to fruit carving and advanced cookery classes, we’ve rounded up some of our most popular foodie experiences:
As Fresh as it Gets!
If you are looking for a sea-inspired foodie adventure in rural Thailand, our ‘Catch and Dine’ or ‘Catch, Cook and Dine’ experience are the perfect choices. These hands-on sessions, help guests engage with the local environment and community in a variety of ways. The first step? Learning how to catch your own fresh fish aboard a traditional longtail boat with a local fisherman
If you opt for ‘Catch, Cook and Dine” then having spent the morning on the water, fishing at some of the best spots in the area, you’ll head off to gather additional ingredients from local farms and suppliers to add that all-important flavour to your dish.
Fish caught and ingredients gathered, you’ll travel to a stunning local setting, such as a natural riverbank, for a masterclass with one of our expert chefs before enjoying a delicious safari-style gourmet lunch.
Carve Your Own Edible Creations
For those who have ever wondered how Thai people create some of the most stunning decorative fruit designs, our fruit carving class is a must!
Originally used to decorate the tables of Thailand’s royal families, fruit carving is now a well-respected and admired art. With our two-hour class you’ll learn a range of impressive skills, from creating flowers from chillies and leaves from carrots to roses from watermelons, meaning you’ll be creating edible table decorations fit for a royal in no time!
Culinary Magic
Looking to learn some culinary magic with your partner? Try one of our ´Just for Two´ Thai cooking classes, available for all levels.
Each class starts with a trip to the local market to buy fresh ingredients, offering a fantastic opportunity to experience local life and discover some of Thailand’s most used and aromatic flavours. As you walk around the food stalls, our chef will talk you through the alternative products that can be found in your home country, meaning you can recreate these sumptuous dishes time and time again – perfect for a nostalgic evening of remembering your adventures at The Sarojin!
After shopping, you’ll return to one of The Sarojin’s stunning cooking class locations, which include a jungle waterfall, an unspoilt beach and a fisherman’s hut, to prepare and cook signature Thai dishes under the personal guidance of our chef, before sitting down to savour your freshly prepared dishes with a glass of wine!
If just one class isn’t enough, we offer two and three-day advanced courses.
