The Sarojin General Manager Khun Pe
August 31, 2024

Meet our new General Manager, Khun Pe

Besides our idyllic location, dreamy weather and luxurious facilities a key component of what makes The Sarojin such a special and unique place to stay is our wonderful staff. Our 170-strong team are our backbone, ensuring the resort is always at its best and guests have a magical and memorable stay. Many have been with us for several years, some since the very beginning. The vast majority are from Thailand allowing us to offer a truly authentic Thai experience. Our staff bring local knowledge, genuine hospitality and cultural insights that enrich the guest experience. This connection to the local community also encourages a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel truly at home. At the helm of our team is The Sarojin General Manager Khun Pe, a Thai local who has risen through the ranks with us over the past 19 years to become our newly promoted General Manager. Let’s explore Khun Pe’s experiences at the resort and his views on why The Sarojin is a fantastic place to visit and work. “I joined The Sarojin in 2005 and haven’t looked back. I was introduced to owners Kate and Andrew and was intrigued by their remarkable story of rebuilding the resort after the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami.. At that time The Sarojin was still undergoing repairs and was yet to open but their passion, resilience and commitment were truly inspiring. I knew right away that I wanted to be part of this remarkable team and contribute my expertise. My first role with The Sarojin was as a Financial Controller. This evolved into Resort Manager before more recently becoming General Manager. Over the years I’ve gained extensive experience and a deep understanding of the resort & operations. The timing of this new role coincided with both my professional readiness and an exciting phase of growth and development for the resort.  Being a General Manager means I oversee all aspects of The Sarojin’s operations, from guest services and staff management to financial performance and strategic planning. It requires ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of quality and service, encouraging a positive work environment. We are continuously seeking ways to improve and innovate to meet the evolving needs of our guests. The most rewarding aspect of my role is seeing the positive impact of the strategies I implement. Additionally, watching my team grow, develop, and succeed in their careers is a source of great pride and motivation. The Sarojin feels like home to me, with its warm, family-like atmosphere and our shared commitment to exceptional experiences. I’m proud to be part of it.. Alongside this recent promotion, one of my biggest highlights at the resort has been winning a prestigious Lady Sarojin Award. This recognition of my dedication and contribution was a significant milestone in my career. It strengthened my commitment to maintaining the resort & standards of excellence in guest service and operational leadership. On the other hand, it’s not all been easy. One of our biggest challenges was dealing with the uncertainties and disruptions caused by Covid-19. Ensuring the safety of our guests and staff while keeping our service standards high required many adaptations and innovations. However, this challenge also showed the resilience and mutual support within our team, making us stronger in the end. Local talent is attracted to The Sarojin because of its strong reputation for excellence and the opportunities we provide for personal and professional growth. The Sarojin offers a supportive work environment, competitive benefits, and a positive workplace culture – all of which I’ve experienced in abundance over the last 19 years. Additionally, many are drawn to the prestige of working at a renowned luxury resort and the chance to be part of a dedicated and friendly team.  For guests, The Sarojin stands out because of its personalised service and attention to detail. We tailor every aspect of the guest experience to individual preferences, ensuring a unique and memorable stay. Our stunning location, luxurious accommodations, and commitment to sustainability further differentiate us. The sense of community and warmth that our team provides is unparalleled, creating a home-away- from-home atmosphere for our guests.  Looking ahead, we plan to continue enhancing our guest experiences through innovative services and amenities. We also intend to focus on expanding our sustainability initiatives and deepening our community engagement. As General Manager, I am keen to help further elevate The Sarojin's reputation as a leading luxury resort.”

The Sarojin by night…

Whilst our beautiful residences, grounds and white sand beach are perfect for relaxing and soaking up the Thai sunshine during the day, The Sarojin truly comes alive by night. Illuminated by the moon under a blanket of stars, there’s plenty for you to see, hear and explore around the resort each evening. Plus, we’ve made some exciting new updates that we’re thrilled to share with you! Our new look and feel Beach Bar Our Beach Bar has had a sparkling new makeover making it the go-to destination to transition from day to night. Breezy, chic, and stylish the newly developed space offers a cool and contemporary design with tropical-inspired lounge chairs and sofas. Shaded under palm trees, the seating is positioned to make the most of the spectacular views across our beach. It’s a perfect spot to watch the sunset and marvel at the waves as they lap the shore. What’s more, the bar also offers a wide selection of ‘by the glass’ champagne, prosecco, and wine options. You can easily taste your way through our menu to find your favourite evening tipple during your stay. Melodies from dusk till dawn For added chill, there’s soft instrumental, Latin and nu jazz music played throughout the evening at our Beach Bar. Live guitar can be heard on Friday nights on the sands to accompany our weekly ‘Lobster and Seafood on the Beach’ dinner and live jazz music can be enjoyed in our Ficus Garden on Tuesday nights, which plays host to our ‘Michelin Dinner by Master Chef’ dining experience. These are all accompanied by the sounds of our local nature and resident wildlife. An orchestra of cicadas serenades guests in the early evening followed by our harmonious frog family and resident owls adding to the atmosphere through the night. Night-time dips Our main pool is open throughout the evening and is perfect for a late swim. There’s something truly mesmerising about immersing yourself in water once the sun has set. We’ve got staff on hand until 7 pm, but you’re welcome to keep enjoying the waters beyond this. We keep our pool lights on throughout the night for your convenience. Of course, our Pool Residences and Jacuzzi Pool Residences also offer a private swimming experience at any time. Memorable dining For a truly memorable night-time experience, our iconic Private Candlelit Jungle Waterfall Dinner offers the chance to dine beside and bathe within the cascading Sai Rung Waterfall in the Khao Lak Lam Ru National Park – just a short drive from The Sarojin. Here you can indulge in a gourmet feast created by our very own personal chefs before taking the plunge in the water surrounded by hundreds of candles. You can lay back, look up and admire the sparkling stars peeking through the tree canopy above. Could it get any more magical?! Spotting the stars The resort’s serene grounds and peaceful beach offer incredible opportunities to stroll at night and look at the stars. But, for the ultimate stargazing experience, we can whisk you away on the Lady Sarojin yacht for our Shipwrecked Private Dining experience on a secluded sand isle. This intimate setting is ideal for taking in the night sky in all its glory. Once again, you’ll be treated to an array of delicious dishes from our private chefs who can tailor the menu to meet your tastes and needs. Dining back at the resort There are plenty more options for an evening meal back at the resort. Our Ficus restaurant nestled under our ancient Ficus tree serves a menu of refined Mediterranean cuisine. The beach-side Edge restaurant serves up a mouth-watering array of Thai and Southeast Asian dishes and our Beach Bar offers light bites and seafood baskets to share. We’ve also got a wine bar and cellar which stocks over 200 wines from around the world. Here, you can enjoy a drink alongside small plates and tapas. You can always opt for ordering some room service back to your residence too. Further private dining options include our Private Candlelight Dinner at The Pool Pavilion experience and our Private Beach Dinner experience.
